Mariposa is the first private development in New Mexico to establish its own waste water treatment facility. To promote the sustainability goals within the community, Mariposa will utilize reclaimed water for all public landscapes, parks, and other open space amenities. Sites Southwest was contracted to perform an overall planning for this public reuse water system based on landscape requirements. Landscape uses and typologies along with their water use were then planned to facilitate the water reuse system. The project covered Planning Area 1 but took into consideration future expansion to other planning areas. Also part of our work was the storage analysis for the Re-Use water, which will be located in the mixed use area of Planning Area 1.
