Incorporating usable outdoor classrooms into six existing sites at El Paso, Texas elementary schools provided Sites Southwest with a fun design opportunity to create whimsical outdoor spaces for special needs students.
Ricardo Estrada Junior High School
In this unique project, Darrington Middle School in Horizon City, Texas became the prototype for interactive design.
Paso Del Norte Academy
Paso del Norte Academy was in need of additional parking, lighting, site furnishings, landscaping and irrigation improvements around one of their El Paso, Texas campuses. The school contracted Sites Southwest to give site analysis and design options.
Sandia Labs Mesa Campus
Sites Southwest provided the campus landscape plan and design for this ambitious science application campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico, intended to attract the nation’s best minds and visiting international dignitaries.
Tierra Antigua Elementary
One of the goals for Tierra Antigua Elementary School was to integrate nature, learning, fitness and play into the landscape. Sites’ designers carefully considered the developmental differences and skill levels for all age groups.
V Sue Cleveland High School and Sports Complex
Sites Southwest was part of the design team for a new high school in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, serving 2500 students, faculty and staff. The overall goal was to make the school a LEED Silver certified building incorporating green techniques.
Sandia High School Science Academy and Wetland
The Sandia High School Science Academy and Library exemplifies a learning concept APS has been incorporating into much of their school design and rehabilitation. This Sites Southwest project included a sports field addition, a landscaped mall connecting the new buildings to the rest of the campus and a very large wetland, which is the focal point of the Science Academy.
University of New Mexico, Rio Rancho Campus
Sites Southwest, in association with Ayers Saint Gross Architects, provided Master Planning for a new campus for the University of New Mexico in Rio Rancho. The project’s intent was to marry “Town and Gown,” developing a fully integrated campus and downtown.
University of Texas at El Paso, Engineering Building
A Sites Southwest designed plaza has become the focus of outdoor learning opportunities for UTEP engineering students and faculty.
