Las Cruces Dam Comprehensive Maintenance Plan
Maintenance with an emphasis on ecology. That was the mission for Sites Southwest when asked to develop a Comprehensive Maintenance Plan for the city’s flood control dam.
Pavilions Shopping Center
Designing a master landscaping plan for this 20-acre shopping center at I-40 and San Mateo Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico was no easy task. The process entailed addressing all of the practices and requirements of Albuquerque’s Development Review Board, meeting the immediate needs of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority and observing New Mexico Department of Transportation traffic regulations.
Albuquerque GI/LID Standard Details
The purpose of this project was to develop standard details for green infrastructure and low impact development strategies that could be incorporated into the Design Process Manual for the City of Albuquerque. The 14 details range from highly urban interventions such as storm water planter boxes and curb extension retrofits to non-urban interventions such as contour swales and Zuni bowls.
Bernalillo County Water Conservation Standards
Bernalillo County wanted to reduce water consumption and achieve long-term water supply. They contracted Sites Southwest to develop landscaping water conservation standards and guidelines to meet that goal.
Hahn Arroyo Master Plan and Design
Sites Southwest teamed with Smith Engineering for the design and rebuild of the Hahn. The primary purpose of the project was to replace the drainage lining while addressing water quality.
Los Ranchos 4th Street Revitalization
The 4th Street Revitalization of the Village of Los Ranchos will transform the corridor into an economic and civic hub for this small municipality in Bernalillo County’s North Valley.
Riverside Vocational Park Pond
This storm water drainage pond had long been an eyesore- fenced off and adjacent to a high school and middle school in El Paso, TX. With the help of Sites Southwest, it’s been converted into an innovative green space.
High Desert Community, Various Projects
This 1,000-acre parcel in Albuquerque, New Mexico encompasses about 2,300 dwelling units built over about 14 years. At the completion of each phase, parks were installed, streetscapes and trails designed/constructed and open space enhanced. Sites Southwest assisted in the development of the approved plant list and landscape revegetation guidelines, participated in the community review committee and designed landscape and irrigation for many projects.
New Mexico Court of Appeals, University of New Mexico Campus
The New Mexico Court of Appeals Building on the UNM campus in Albuquerque is a sustainably designed, LEED certified building and landscape. The building exhibits pure functionality in its use of sustainable materials, water harvesting and a green roof.
