Maintenance with an emphasis on ecology. That was the mission for Sites Southwest when asked to develop a Comprehensive Maintenance Plan for the city’s flood control dam.
The Saipan residential district is very close to the University Medical Center in El Paso, TX. City officials were concerned about residents there after a major flood in 2006. The city purchased 8 acres of flood damaged residential land and relocated its residents. In its place they installed an award winning, innovative storm water drainage pond and green space.
Aldea, El Paso is a 250 Master Planned New Urbanist Community in the city’s northwest sector. It’s located near the dramatic backdrop of the Franklin Mountains and beautiful Chihuahuan Desert. Sites Southwest, working with the owners and Moule & Polyzoides Urbanists, developed a plan for the residential and commercial center in a community well attuned to the desert environment.
!25 is a mixed-use office and commercial brownfield development on the old Digital Equipment Company site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The development consists of 45 acres and over 500,000 square feet of building space at I-25 and Jefferson Boulevard. Sites Southwest not only designed the landscape for the project, but worked with the architect on site planning strategies.
Designing a master landscaping plan for this 20-acre shopping center at I-40 and San Mateo Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico was no easy task. The process entailed addressing all of the practices and requirements of Albuquerque’s Development Review Board, meeting the immediate needs of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority and observing New Mexico Department of Transportation traffic regulations.
