The Saipan residential district is very close to the University Medical Center in El Paso, TX. City officials were concerned about area residents after a major flood in 2006. The city purchased 8 acres of flood damaged residential land and relocated its residents. In its place they installed an award winning, innovative storm water drainage pond and green space.

Sites Southwest park design included much needed soccer fields, a loop with state of the art exercise equipment, shade canopies, tables and benches. Many trees and low water use plants were arranged in an attractive setting. Colorful plant buffers were created along the park’s borders with I-10. Colorful graphic patterns can be seen from the interstate and overpasses.
