When the UTEP Engineering complex addition was designed, it was decided the building should have a proper plaza. Sites Southwest accomplished that with a plan for an amphitheater, custom designed gabion benches and trash receptacles, turf, low-water colorful plants and patterned colored concrete that created a lively pedestrian connection between buildings.

This plaza has become the focus of outdoor learning opportunities for engineering students and faculty.
