A beautiful new facility on this large Montana Avenue property is a LEED Gold project for the City of El Paso and Sun Metro. For Sites Southwest it provided some challenging design opportunities.
The landscape plan incorporates street trees and a courtyard that will be used by the employees for breaks, lunch and outdoor meetings—all complete with year round color and rabbit resistant low-water plants. Retention ponds are integrated into the landscape. A visitor and bus parking lot is artfully masked to comply with the Development Services Landscape Ordinance. The design team met very specific requirements regarding bus entrance and egress from the site. Protecting the bird flight paths over the site was also part of the plan.
