The Black Arroyo Wildlife Park not only provides flood control, but serves as a respite and educational venue for residents, students, workers and other visitors.
The NM 14 highway project involved the reconstruction of a 10-mile stretch of National Scenic Byway between Madrid and Santa Fe, New Mexico. The collaborative effort included Sites Southwest, consulting engineering firm Parsons Brinkerhoff, New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Madrid and Cerrillos Citizens Advisory Committee.
This Reconnaissance Study is the first phase of a comprehensive program to revitalize the river as it winds through Albuquerque. The goal is to restore the river’s bosque to an ecologically sustainable and natural environment that will provide exceptional visual, recreational and interpretive opportunities to its visitors.
