George is perhaps best known for his efforts to create a more regional approach to site and landscape design in the arid southwest through his work with water conservation, xeriscape and green infrastructure. His interest stems from his love of the outdoors and wild places – where he loves to hike, fish and generally enjoy natural environments. George also enjoys lecturing on the subject of water and appropriate landscaping and has spread the word at workshops and conferences throughout the United States and Mexico. He also works with political leaders creating water conservation legislation. In many ways, George and the movements which he has promoted throughout his career fundamentally changed landscape architecture in the Southwestern United States.

As a founder and partner of Sites Southwest, George supplies a broad spectrum of planning and design expertise to the firm and our clients. His work is greatly influenced by his grasp of landscape ecology and its seamless integration into the built environment. With 30+ years as a Landscape Architect behind him, George has a diverse understanding of multiple project types and their issues. He applies this extensive knowledge to the design and planning of every project in which Sites Southwest plays a role.
