Allison Long, AICP

Senior Planner / Project Manager

Allison brings a wealth of experience in municipal planning, economic development, sustainability, and data analysis to her role at Sites Southwest. She has worked as a municipal planner, economic development data analyst, and federal grant administrator in Austin, Texas, and as a sustainability coordinator in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Allison’s expertise spans community planning, district planning, and data science, allowing her to deliver practical strategies and detailed implementation plans for clients. Her accomplishments include implementing form-based codes and organizing tactical urbanism events in Bastrop, TX, as well as leading urban forestry, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas inventory projects in Santa Fe. With a foundation in sociology and nonprofit work, Allison brings a focus on social and environmental equity to every project. At Sites, Allison enjoys the variety of projects and subject matter, as well as the collaborative culture that challenges her to be a better planner. She loves New Mexico’s diversity, which keeps her work dynamic and constantly inspiring. Outside of work, Allison serves on the board of Friends of Architecture Santa Fe, advocating for better land use and design through interactive bike tours and community engagement. On weekends, you’ll often find her exploring New Mexico’s outdoor spaces and sampling its incredible cuisine. A fun fact about Allison: she’s a Star Trek enthusiast and dreams of living in a future space utopia. Her favorite series, Deep Space Nine, highlights themes of community, imagination, and personal growth.
Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Belmont University (2012) and a Master of Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin (2017).
