Robert Oberdofer, ASLA, PLA
Bob is a registered landscape architect and environmental planner with over three decades of experience. With a focus on ecologically responsible design practices and practical problem-solving, Bob has led projects ranging from feasibility studies to the design and construction oversight of streetscapes, parks, recreational facilities, and institutional landscapes. He has also contributed to local and regional planning efforts. Before joining Sites, Bob headed the landscape architecture division at a multidisciplinary firm for 26 years, where close collaboration with engineers strengthened his technical expertise and complemented his creative vision. His skills include trail planning and design, ADA and universal accessibility compliance, and construction oversight and quality control. Bob finds great satisfaction in solving design challenges and mentoring younger designers to shape the future of the profession. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, biking, and tackling home improvement projects. A fun fact about Bob: he was born in India, which gives him a unique cultural perspective that influences his work.
Bob holds a Master of Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) from the University of New Mexico (1990) and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from Michigan State University (1982).
