Principal Landscape Architect

As a founder and partner of Sites, George brings over 40 years of expertise as a landscape architect, offering a broad spectrum of planning and design knowledge. His work is deeply rooted in landscape ecology, emphasizing its seamless integration into the built environment. George’s diverse understanding of project types and issues informs every project he undertakes, ensuring innovative and sustainable solutions for clients. George is renowned for championing a regional approach to site and landscape design in the arid Southwest. His efforts in water conservation, xeriscape, and green infrastructure have fundamentally transformed landscape architecture in the region. Passionate about the outdoors, George enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring natural environments, experiences that continue to inspire his work. In addition to his design contributions, George lectures widely on water and appropriate landscaping, presenting at workshops and conferences across the United States and Mexico. His advocacy extends to collaborating with political leaders to craft water conservation legislation, further advancing sustainable practices in the Southwest.
George holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New Mexico, earned in 1975, and has completed coursework toward a Master’s in Community and Regional Planning.
