Shasta Meehan

Senior Landscape Designer

Shasta is a passionate landscape designer with a focus on sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs. She began her career in a design-build practice in Santa Fe, specializing in erosion control, water harvesting, and native planting. Over the years, Shasta has worked on a variety of projects, including streetscapes, parks, recreational trails, green burial sites, and public plazas across New Mexico and Oregon. She draws on her five years of experience in plant nurseries to enhance her planting designs with deep knowledge of plant care and maintenance. Shasta enjoys collaborating with like-minded professionals at Sites who share her commitment to sustainability and equity. She particularly values the variety of design challenges and the diversity of project locations. Outside of work, Shasta enjoys hiking, reading, nurturing her indoor plant collection, and embroidering gifts for loved ones. A fun fact about Shasta: Shasta is currently writing a short novel set in the Pacific Northwest about intertidal ecosystems and the conservation of peregrine falcon habitats, with a unique twist on using kelp as a building material.
Shasta earned her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon in 2019.
