SITES SOUTHWEST is a community-oriented landscape architecture and planning firm with a rich history serving primarily public clients throughout the Southwest. Our primary office where most of our employees are located is in Albuquerque, NM, but we also have projects and employees across the Southwest and are expanding into the high desert regions of the Pacific Northwest in Bend, Oregon. We are looking for interns or early career Landscape Architects who will work collaboratively with the broader landscape architecture team on multi-disciplinary projects including parks, trails, streetscapes, open spaces, and other project topologies. This position will include drafting and editing of documents and CAD drawings, use of common technology tools, and may include fieldwork.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Assist with preparation of landscape architecture documents, including plans, drawings, and project reports

• Support projects by researching key topics and providing data analysis

• Assist with creation of public engagement materials for public meetings, focus groups, and community workshops

• Have an understanding of digital and hand-drawn graphics and experience with AutoCAD, GIS, LandFX, the Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and/or other related software tools

• Possess a passion for sustainable and equitable design in Southwestern and high-desert environments

• Communicate effectively and consistently with co-workers and team partners, as needed 

 

We offer a flexible schedule with a hybrid work environment, tailored to suit our employees’ and business needs. This allows interns to work part-time while in school. Employees work in collaborative teams both virtually and in our modern urban office near downtown Albuquerque, on Route 66.
